Some nights nobody wants to cook, and some occasions deserve better than a table for twelve in a restaurant where you cannot hear each other. That is what a private chef is for, and you can arrange one in any of our Charlotte, Lake Norman or Lake Wylie homes through our catering partner, Yhangry.
How it works
You tell Yhangry the date, the number of people and roughly what you have in mind. Get personalised menus and quotes from multiple chefs so you can compare. Chat with your chef to customize. You can still make edits after booking. The chef takes it from there: menu, shopping, cooking in your kitchen, serving, and clearing up afterwards. You do not shop, you do not prep, and you do not face the washing up. The kitchen is left as they found it.
When it is worth it
Three situations, mostly. Celebrations, where a birthday or an anniversary deserves more than a booking. Large groups, because once you are over eight or ten people a decent restaurant table at a time that suits everyone becomes genuinely difficult, and a chef at the house is often cheaper than the equivalent night out once drinks and transport are counted. And arrival nights, when after a long drive or a late flight having dinner appear without anyone leaving the house is worth a great deal.
What to think about
Give them as much notice as you can. A couple of weeks is comfortable and more is better in summer and around holidays. Mention allergies, dietary requirements and anyone difficult to feed at the booking stage rather than on the night. And think about where you want to eat, because several of our lakefront homes have outdoor tables with a view of the water, which on a warm evening is the whole point.
